Ibanez built the RGA42HPTLBM as part of its RGA Series, a line designed around high-output hardware and extended upper-fret access. The model was finished in Laser Blue Matte.
The guitar was constructed with a Nyatoh body and a Wizard III profile neck in Roasted Maple, paired with a Jatoba fretboard carrying off-set white dot inlays across 24 jumbo frets. The scale length ran 648 mm (25.5"). Nut width measured 43 mm, widening to 58 mm at the 24th fret, with neck thickness of 19 mm at the first fret and 21 mm at the 12th; the fretboard radius was 400 mm. String spacing at the bridge was 10.5 mm. Electronics consisted of DiMarzio Fusion Edge humbuckers at both neck and bridge positions, both passive and ceramic. A double-locking tremolo bridge paired with a locking nut handled tuning stability, and all hardware was finished in gold. The guitar left the factory strung with D'Addario EXL120s (.009–.042) in standard tuning.
Owners requiring setup work, tremolo adjustment, or fretboard maintenance should consult a qualified guitar technician familiar with double-locking tremolo systems and the hardware tolerances associated with this specification.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
