Ibanez built the RG652AHMAWD as part of the RG Prestige Series, positioning it at the upper tier of the RG line where tighter construction tolerances and premium component selection distinguished it from the standard range. The Antique White Blonde finish places it among the more visually distinctive entries in the Prestige catalogue.
The guitar is constructed with an ash body joined to a Super Wizard HP five-piece Maple/Walnut neck — a profile Ibanez developed for low mass and fast access across the full length. The bound Birdseye Maple fretboard carries black dot inlays and 24 jumbo frets set to a 430mm radius, with a nut width of 43mm tapering to 58mm at the 24th fret. Neck thickness measures 17mm at the first fret and 19mm at the twelfth. The 648mm (25.5-inch) scale drives an Edge tremolo bridge with 10.8mm string spacing. Electronics consist of a DiMarzio Air Norton humbucker at the neck and a DiMarzio The Tone Zone humbucker at the bridge, both passive Alnico units. Hardware throughout is finished in cosmo black. The guitar left the factory strung with a .009–.042 set in standard E tuning.
