Ibanez positioned the RG1127PBFXCIF within the RG Premium Series as a seven-string electric guitar finished in Caribbean Islet Flat. It carried the Premium designation, placing it above the standard production RG line and targeting players who required extended range alongside the build refinements associated with that tier.
The guitar was built around an American Basswood body with a Poplar Burl top and a 11-piece Maple/Walnut/Purpleheart Wizard II-7 neck, a construction that combined the laminated neck blank's inherent rigidity with the tonal characteristics of three distinct wood species. The Ebony fretboard ran 24 frets with Mother of Pearl dot inlays, a 400mmR radius, and Premium fret edge treatment using Jescar EVO Gold frets. Nut width measured 48mm, widening to 68mm at the 24th fret, with neck thickness of 19mm at the first fret and 21mm at the twelfth. The 648mm/25.5-inch scale fed into individual Mono-rail bridges spaced at 10.8mm string spacing. DiMarzio Fusion Edge 7 passive ceramic humbuckers occupied both the neck and bridge positions. All hardware was finished in Cosmo black. The guitar left the factory strung with D'Addario XL110-7s in a standard seven-string tuning of B–E–A–D–G–B–E.
Owners sourcing replacement parts should note that the Mono-rail bridge, Jescar EVO Gold fret stock, and DiMarzio Fusion Edge 7 pickups are all independently available through their respective manufacturers; a qualified guitar technician can advise on correct fit and setup for this scale length and string spacing.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
