Ibanez positioned the RG1121PBCIF within the RG Premium Series, a tier designed to deliver professional-grade construction and hardware at a step below the Prestige line. The model carried the Caribbean Islet Flat finish and was built around the brand's long-running RG platform, known for its slim neck profile and extended upper-fret access.
The guitar was constructed with an American Basswood body topped with a Poplar Burl veneer, paired with an eleven-piece Maple, Walnut, and Purpleheart Wizard neck — a laminated configuration chosen for stability. The fretboard was Ebony, carrying Mother of Pearl dot inlays and 24 Jescar EVO Gold frets finished with Premium fret edge treatment. The 648mm (25.5") scale ran across a 400mmR radius board, with a nut width of 43mm and a thickness of 18mm at the first fret tapering to 20mm at the twelfth. String spacing at the Mono-rail bridge was 10.8mm. Pickup duties were handled by a matched pair of DiMarzio Fusion Edge humbuckers — passive, ceramic-magnet units — at both neck and bridge positions. Hardware throughout was finished in Cosmo black. The guitar left the factory strung with D'Addario EXL110s (.010–.046) in standard E tuning.
