Ibanez built the RG1120PBZCIF as part of the RG Premium Series, positioning it above the standard RG line with an elevated specification package centred on a multi-laminate neck, boutique-grade fretwork, and DiMarzio-sourced pickups. The Caribbean Islet Flat finish sat within the Premium tier, which targeted players seeking higher-grade materials and hardware without stepping into the Prestige or J-Custom categories.
The guitar's most distinctive structural element is its 11-piece Wizard neck constructed from alternating Maple, Walnut, and Purpleheart laminates — a configuration chosen for rigidity and stability. The body pairs an American Basswood core with a Poplar Burl top. An Ebony fretboard carries 24 frets in Jescar EVO Gold format with Premium fret edge treatment, Mother of Pearl dot inlays, a 400mmR radius, and a 43mm locking nut at the zero fret. Neck dimensions are recorded as 18mm thick at the first fret and 20mm at the twelfth, with a width of 58mm at the 24th fret. The 648mm (25.5-inch) scale feeds into an Edge-Zero II tremolo bridge with ZPS3Fe spring system at 10.8mm string spacing. Both pickup positions carry DiMarzio Fusion Edge humbuckers in passive/ceramic configuration, controlled through Cosmo black hardware. The guitar left the factory strung with D'Addario EXL120s (.009–.042) in standard E tuning.
Owners requiring tremolo setup, nut slot adjustment, or fret work should consult a qualified guitar technician familiar with double-locking tremolo systems.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
