Ibanez built the ART120QASB as part of its ART Series, a line positioned around a set-in neck construction and a visually oriented top treatment. The model carried a Quilted Maple Art Grain top over a Poplar body, finished in Sunburst, and was fitted with a bound Purpleheart fretboard bearing white block inlays across 22 medium frets.
The neck joined the body via a set-in joint and was constructed from Maple. Nut width measured 43mm, widening to 56mm at the 22nd fret, with a 305mm radius fretboard. Neck thickness ran 20mm at the first fret and 22mm at the twelfth. The 628mm (24.7") scale length was served by a Gibraltar Performer bridge with 10.5mm string spacing and a Quik Change III tailpiece, all in chrome hardware. Two passive ceramic Classic Elite humbuckers — one at the neck, one at the bridge — handled pickup duties. The guitar left the factory strung with a .010–.046 set in standard E tuning.
Owners sourcing replacement parts should note that the Gibraltar Performer bridge and Quik Change III tailpiece are Ibanez-specific components; a guitar technician or qualified luthier can advise on compatible substitutes and confirm correct post spacing before fitting.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
