Washburn built the WD150SWCE as part of its Timber Ridge Series, positioning it as a dreadnought cutaway acoustic-electric with an emphasis on solid tonewoods throughout the body construction.
The top is solid Sitka Spruce, braced with quarter-sawn scalloped Sitka Spruce bracing. Both the back and sides are solid Mahogany. The satin Mahogany neck carries a two-way truss rod and a Rosewood fretboard fitted with offset dot inlays and a bone nut measuring 43mm in width. Abalone appears at the rosette. The bridge is Rosewood, and tuning is handled by chrome diecast tuners. Electronics are provided by a Fishman Presys+ Blend preamp system. The guitar was strung from the factory with D'Addario EXP-16 light phosphor bronze strings.
