Ibanez produced the UKS10 as a soprano-body acoustic ukulele, positioning it as an entry-level instrument in the acoustic ukulele range. It carried a natural finish as standard.
The body was built with a sapele top, back, and sides. The okoume neck carried a purpleheart fretboard and matching purpleheart bridge, with white dot inlays and a flat fretboard radius across 17 frets. The nut and saddle were plastic, and tuning was handled by chrome open-gear machines. The scale measured 350mm, with a nut width of 35mm and string spacing of 13mm at the bridge. Neck dimensions were 17.6mm thick at the first fret and 20.6mm at the seventh. Factory tuning was set to standard soprano reentrant: 4G, 3C, 2E, 1A, with a string gauge of .022/.028/.032/.022.
