Ibanez produced the TCY10EBK as part of the Talman Series, positioning it as an electro-acoustic with a distinctive double cutaway body form — a departure from the conventional dreadnought or orchestra shapes common to the acoustic market. The instrument carried the Talman line's characteristic blend of acoustic construction and electric-guitar ergonomics, finished in Black High Gloss.
The body was built with a spruce top over sapele back and sides. The okoume neck carried a purpleheart fretboard and a matching purpleheart bridge, with white dot inlays and a black and white multi-layer soundhole rosette. The nut and saddle were plastic, and the bridge accepted Ibanez Advantage pins. Tuning was handled by chrome die-cast machines with half-moon knobs. The nut width measured 42mm, the scale 650mm, and the neck profile ran 21.5mm thick at the first fret, tapering to 23.5mm at the seventh, with a 250mm radius fretboard. For amplified use, an Ibanez undersaddle pickup fed an AEQ-2T preamp with an onboard tuner, outputting through a standard quarter-inch jack. Factory stringing was .012–.053, set to standard E-to-E tuning with 11mm string spacing.
