Description

Ibanez positioned the B200 as an acoustic banjo in its entry-level to mid-range fretted instrument line, offered in a Natural finish. The instrument was built around a sapele back and sides with an okoume neck, purpleheart fretboard, and a composite purpleheart and maple bridge — a combination that reflected the cost-conscious material choices typical of production banjos at this tier.

The B200 carried 22 frets on a flat-radius purpleheart board with a 670mm scale length. The nut measured 32mm wide and was made of plastic, while the saddle material was purpleheart. String spacing at the bridge was 14.5mm, and the instrument left the factory strung with a .009/.016/.023/.030/.009 gauged set tuned 1D, 2B, 3G, 4D, 5G — the standard open G tuning configuration for a five-string banjo.
