Ibanez produced the AW54CEOPN as part of its Artwood Series, positioning it as an electro-acoustic cutaway dreadnought aimed at players who required both acoustic projection and stage-ready amplification. The Open Pore Natural finish and solid Okoume top placed it above laminate-topped alternatives within the Artwood range.
The body was constructed with a solid Okoume top over Okoume back and sides, with an Ovangkol fretboard and bridge mounted on a Nyatoh neck. The 43mm plastic nut and 651mm scale lead into 20 frets, with a fretboard radius of 400mmR and string spacing of 11mm at the saddle. Ibanez Advantage bridge pins and D'Addario XTAPB1253 strings (.012–.053) were fitted at the factory. Electronics comprised an Ibanez T-bar undersaddle pickup paired with the AEQ-TP2 preamp, which includes an onboard tuner. Output options covered both a balanced XLR and a standard 1/4" jack, making the guitar compatible with both stage DI boxes and standard instrument amplifiers. Tuning machines were chrome die-cast units. The soundhole rosette was finished in a black and white multi-layer pattern with white dot fretboard inlays.
