- Finish
- Open Pore Natural
Ibanez built the AC340CEOPN as part of the Artwood Series, positioning it as an electro-acoustic cutaway grand concert guitar finished in Open Pore Natural. The Open Pore Natural finish was applied without the build-up of a conventional gloss coat, leaving the wood surface more directly exposed. The cutaway grand concert body configuration allowed upper-fret access while retaining the tighter waist geometry associated with the grand concert format.
The top was constructed from solid Okoume, with Okoume back and sides completing the body. The AC/Nyatoh neck carried an Ovangkol fretboard over a 634 mm scale length, with a nut width of 45 mm, a fretboard radius of 400 mm, and 20 frets. Bone was used for both nut and the compensated saddle. The Thermo Aged Ovangkol bridge accepted Ibanez Advantage bridge pins. Electronics consisted of a Fishman Sonicore pickup paired with an Ibanez AEQ-SP2 preamp with onboard tuner; output was provided via both a balanced XLR and a standard 1/4" jack. Chrome die-cast tuners handled tuning, and the guitar shipped strung with D'Addario XTAPB1253 strings gauged .012–.053.
Owners seeking setup adjustments, bone nut or saddle replacements, or assistance identifying compatible Fishman Sonicore or Ibanez AEQ-SP2 preamp components should consult a qualified guitar technician or luthier familiar with acoustic-electric instruments.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
