- Finish
- Silver Metallic High Gloss
Ibanez built the AEWC10SM as part of the AEW Series, positioning it as an electro-acoustic guitar finished in Silver Metallic High Gloss. The AEWC body configuration paired with an Nyatoh neck defined its place in the line as an accessible, amplifier-ready acoustic instrument.
The top is spruce, with sapele used for both back and sides. The walnut fretboard runs to 20 frets over a 634mm scale, with a nut width of 43mm and a fretboard radius of 400mmR. Neck dimensions measure 20mm thickness at the first fret and 21mm at the seventh. Off-set white dot inlays mark the fretboard positions, and the nut and saddle are plastic. The walnut bridge accepts Ibanez Advantage bridge pins and is strung from the factory with Ibanez IACS6C strings gauged .012/.016/.024/.032/.042/.053 at standard E-to-E tuning, with an 11mm string spacing. Chrome die-cast tuners with black knobs handle pitch. Electronics consist of an Ibanez undersaddle pickup routed through an AEQ-2T preamp with an onboard tuner, outputting through a 1/4" jack.
Owners sourcing replacement hardware — including bridge pins, nut or saddle blanks, or tuner sets — should cross-reference the stated dimensions above when evaluating compatibility. For setup, intonation adjustment or electronics work, consulting a qualified guitar technician is recommended.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
