Washburn built the WD7SCEATB-U as part of the Harvest Series, positioning it as the acoustic-electric companion to the D7SATB. The model shares the same solid Sitka Spruce top and mahogany back and sides pairing as its non-cutaway sibling, with the addition of a cutaway body design for upper fret access. It sat within a line aimed at players seeking a solid-top instrument at an accessible tier.
The top is braced with quarter-sawn scalloped Sitka Spruce bracing. The satin-finished mahogany neck carries a 43mm ABS nut, an Ovangkol fretboard with dot inlays, and 20 frets on a 25.5" scale. The bridge is also Ovangkol. The gloss-finished dreadnought body is appointed with a Washburn Heritage rosette in tobacco sunburst. Chrome diecast tuners and chrome hardware complete the platform. For amplification, the guitar uses a Barcus-Berry EQ4T preamp system — a four-band EQ unit with built-in tuner and notch dial — controlled via volume, bass, treble and phase. Strings fitted at the factory were D'Addario EXP-16 light phosphor bronze.
