Description

Washburn positioned the HD20SE-O-U within the Heritage 10/20/30/40 Series, a line built around solid-wood construction at its upper tiers. The dreadnought format placed this guitar squarely in the flatpicking and strumming tradition, offering the full-bodied projection that body style is known for.

The top is solid Sitka spruce, a tonewood long associated with headroom and dynamic responsiveness. Back and sides are pau ferro, a dense hardwood that produces clear, defined low-end and articulate midrange. The fingerboard is ovangkol, a material with a feel and grain character that sits in a similar register to rosewood. The finish is natural gloss. No case was included with this model.

Owners working on setup, fret work, or sourcing a compatible replacement nut, saddle, or bridge pin set for this instrument should consult a qualified luthier or experienced guitar technician who can verify fit against the instrument's actual dimensions.

From the people who own them

Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.

Put yours on the record.

The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.

What do you know about this one?

Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
