Washburn built the PXV-MS260FRK-D-U as part of its Parallaxe Series in collaboration with Michael Sweet, lead singer and guitarist of Stryper. The model was positioned as a more accessible alternative to Sweet's USA Custom Shop V2FR, carrying his signature black and yellow striped aesthetic and several of his personal hardware preferences into a production instrument.
The guitar is constructed with a mahogany body and a set maple neck — the neck is glued rather than bolted — topped with an ebony fretboard carrying 24 jumbo frets and Parallaxe inlays at the 12th position, with yellow split block inlays along the board. At the headstock end, a 43 mm graphite nut feeds into black Grover Exclusive 18:1 tuning machines. The 25.5" scale runs to an Original Floyd Rose tremolo bridge fitted with a heavy 34 mm brass block. Electronics consist of Duncan Designed Active Blackout humbuckers wired to Sweet's specification, with the bridge and neck pickup positions swapped from their conventional arrangement, controlled by a single volume, single tone, and a 3-way toggle switch. The Buzz Feiten Tuning System is built into the neck joint and nut geometry to assist intonation across the full fretboard. D'Addario XL 120 light-gauge strings were fitted at the factory. All hardware is finished in black, and the body carries a gloss finish.
Owners requiring setup work, Floyd Rose spring adjustment, or Buzz Feiten-aware intonation should consult a qualified guitar technician familiar with double-locking tremolo systems.
