Washburn built the PXL20B-D-U as part of the Parallaxe Series, a line positioned specifically for modern rock and metal players. Within the Parallaxe range, the PXL Series represented a dedicated approach to high-output, technically demanding play, incorporating the Buzz Feiten Tuning System alongside a full contact bridge and a custom carved back.
The guitar is constructed with a mahogany body and mahogany neck, the latter joining the body with a total access heel. The ebony fretboard carries 22 frets dressed with split pearl block inlays and is topped with a 43 mm graphite nut at a 24-3/4" scale length. Pickups are Duncan USA SH2 and SH4 humbuckers in an H/H configuration, selected via a 3-way toggle. The control layout runs two volume controls and one tone control, each volume fitted with a series/parallel push/pull function. All hardware is finished in black and includes a Tune-O-Matic bridge and Grover Exclusive black locking tuners with an 18:1 gear ratio. Strings were installed from the factory as D'Addario EXL120 light gauge.
Owners seeking replacement parts — including Tune-O-Matic saddles, Grover-pattern tuner bushings, or SH-series pickup rings — should confirm exact measurements against the physical instrument before ordering, and consult a qualified guitar technician for setup work, intonation adjustments to the Buzz Feiten system, or any structural repairs.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
