Washburn built the HD10S-O-U as part of its Heritage Series, positioning it as a dreadnought acoustic aimed at players who wanted a solid-top instrument with traditional voicing. The dreadnought shape and Cathedral Peaked Scalloped-X bracing were central to how Washburn described this model's projection and tonal character.
The top is solid Sitka spruce, paired with mahogany back, sides, and neck — the neck finished in satin and fitted with a two-way truss rod. The fretboard and bridge are both Ovangkol, and the nut is GraphTech Nubone at a 1-11/16" width. Scale length runs 25-5/16". Twenty frets are marked with dot inlays. Tuning is handled by chrome diecast tuners, the rosette is the Washburn Heritage pattern, and a tortoise pickguard is fitted. Strings from the factory were D'Addario EXP light-gauge phosphor bronze. All hardware is chrome, and the finish is gloss natural.
Owners sourcing replacement parts should note that the Ovangkol bridge will take standard dreadnought saddle dimensions, and the GraphTech Nubone nut can be replaced with any blank cut to the 1-11/16" width. For setup, intonation work, or truss-rod adjustment, a qualified guitar technician will be able to make use of the accessible two-way rod.
