Description

Washburn built the HD30SCE-U as part of its Heritage 10/20/30/40 Series, positioning it as a cutaway acoustic-electric dreadnought within that range. The Heritage Series was designed around traditional acoustic construction principles, and the HD30SCE-U carried the series designation indicating its place in the 30-tier of that lineup.

The guitar's top is solid Sitka spruce, paired with figured ash back and sides — a combination that distinguished this model from more common mahogany or rosewood-backed instruments in the dreadnought category. The fingerboard is rosewood. The cutaway body style provides upper-fret access not typically found on standard dreadnought configurations, and the onboard electronics system — denoted by the "E" suffix — allowed amplified use. The Natural Gloss finish was the specified colour for this SKU.

Owners requiring setup work, saddle or nut replacement, or guidance on compatible electronics components should consult a qualified luthier or guitar technician familiar with acoustic-electric instruments.

From the people who own them

Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.

Put yours on the record.

The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.

What do you know about this one?

Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
