Washburn introduced the BTS9CH-D-U as the initial offering in the Bella Tono line, positioning it under the Bella Tono Novo S9 designation. The guitar was built around Washburn's Studio body shape, a design the company developed to deliver tight lows, focused mids and clear highs while providing a comfortable playing experience.
The top is select spruce finished in a high-gloss charcoal burst, paired with select figured walnut back and sides. Quarter-sawn scalloped bracing supports the top, and a Washburn Bella Tono rosette surrounds the soundhole. The okoume neck carries a modern C profile with a satin finish and runs a full 25.5" scale length. Twenty frets sit on an ebony fingerboard featuring dot inlays and a Lotus inlay at the 12th fret. Black and white binding runs the top and back. Hardware throughout is black, including die-cast tuners and an ebony bridge. Strings are D'Addario. The neck is bound with black and white binding on both the top and back of the body.
