The Schecter 6451 Z-Plus is a matched humbucker set — bridge and neck — sold as a calibrated pair. Each pickup uses an Alnico V magnet in direct-coupled construction, a solid nickel/silver baseplate, and 12 adjustable high-carbon steel socket-set pole pieces per pickup. The 4-conductor harness on each unit supports full humbucker operation or split-coil wiring. Output is 14.5k ohms at the bridge and 10.0k ohms at the neck.

Two things decide whether this set fits your guitar. First, pole spacing: the bridge pickup is wound to 53mm tremolo spacing and the neck to 49mm universal spacing — if your bridge route was built around a hardtail or narrower-spaced unit, the outer strings will not sit over the poles correctly. Second, this is a 6-string set; it is not a substitute for a 7- or 8-string pickup. Also check your mounting situation before ordering: direct-mount bodies and ring-mount bodies need different hardware, and that hardware is not included in this listing.

The existing failure mode on aged Z-Plus units is usually the baseplate: the nickel/silver corrodes at the solder joint before the magnet or coils go. If your original set is losing output unevenly between coils, check the baseplate connection first. This replacement uses the same solid nickel/silver baseplate construction as the originals.
