Schecter positioned the C-7 FR S Apocalypse as a high-specification seven-string electric guitar built around an extended-range, floating-tremolo configuration. Manufactured in South Korea, it carried the Red Reign finish and sat at the upper end of the Apocalypse sub-line, distinguished by its Sustainiac driver system, compound-radius fretboard, and multi-ply neck construction.
The swamp ash body features an arched top with black single-ply binding and is joined to a maple and padauk multi-ply neck — reinforced with carbon fiber rods — via a set-neck joint with Ultra Access heel contouring. The ebony fretboard runs a 12"–16" compound radius across 24 X-jumbo stainless steel frets, with Roman numeral inlays and glow-in-the-dark side dot markers. The 26.5" (673mm) baritone scale is paired with a Floyd Rose 1500 Series bridge and locking nut (1.625" / 41.3mm width), while Grover Rotomatic 18:1 tuners and satin black hardware complete the appointments. Electronics pair a Schecter USA Apocalypse-VII™ bridge humbucker with a Sustainiac neck driver, governed by a control layout that includes dedicated volume, tone, and intensity knobs alongside a three-way pickup switch, a two-way Sustainiac on/off switch, and a three-way Sustainiac mode switch covering Fundamental, Mix, and Harmonic modes. A 9-volt clip-in battery compartment powers the Sustainiac circuit. Hipshot O-ring knobs are fitted throughout. The Thin 'C' neck profile measures .787" (20mm) at the first fret and .866" (22mm) at the twelfth. Factory strings are Ernie Ball seven-string gauges (.009–.062).
Owners requiring setup assistance, tremolo calibration, or help sourcing Floyd Rose 1500 Series or Sustainiac-compatible replacement parts should consult a qualified guitar technician familiar with floating-bridge and active-driver systems.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
