Schecter built the RS-1000 Stage as a signature acoustic-electric model for Robert Smith, positioning it within their artist series as a stage-ready instrument finished in Gloss Black. It carried item number 282 in the Schecter catalogue and was manufactured in China with a set-neck construction.
The body was built from mahogany with a solid spruce top and white multi-ply binding, paired with a mahogany set neck profiled in a Thin 'C' shape measuring .787" at the first fret and .866" at the twelfth. The rosewood fretboard runs a 16" radius across 21 medium frets, with Stars & Moon inlays and a 1.693" bone nut. Grover Rotomatic 18:1 tuners handle tuning stability at the headstock. A rosewood acoustic bridge anchors the strings, and onboard electronics consist of a Fishman Acoustic Matrix undersaddle pickup routed through a Fishman Matrix Infinity EQ preamp offering Volume, Tone, Bass, and a Voicing Switch. All hardware is finished in chrome. The two-way adjustable truss rod is accessed with a 5/32" Allen key. The RS-1000 Stage ships without a case; the SGR-13AC case was sold separately.
Owners seeking setup adjustments, saddle or nut work, or Fishman electronics service should consult a qualified guitar technician familiar with acoustic-electric instruments.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
