Schecter built the Mark Thwaite Solo-II as a signature model for Mark Thwaite, positioning it in the upper tier of their electric guitar line. It carried a set-neck construction with a mahogany body and a solid maple arched top, finished in Ultra Violet with aged creme multi-ply binding and gold hardware throughout.
The three-piece mahogany neck incorporated carbon fiber reinforcement rods and carried a thin 'C' profile, measuring .787" at the first fret and .866" at the twelfth. The rosewood fretboard featured 22 X-jumbo frets on a 14" radius, mother of pearl block inlays, and a Graph Tech XL Ivory Tusq nut at 1.653" width — a dimension that determines string-to-string spacing for any replacement nut. The 24.75" scale ran to a Bigsby Archtop B70 with a roller TonePros TOM TPFR-T3BT bridge, a pairing that accommodates Ernie Ball Regular Slinky strings (.010–.046) as supplied. Pickups were a Seymour Duncan JB SH-4B at the bridge and a Seymour Duncan Alnico Pro II APH-1N at the neck, wired to a volume/volume/tone (push-pull)/3-way switch layout with grip tip speed knobs. Schecter locking tuners completed the hardware complement. The two-way adjustable truss rod is accessed with a 5/32" (4mm) Allen key.
