Schecter built the Wayne Hussey Corsair-12 as a signature twelve-string electric guitar developed in collaboration with Wayne Hussey. It sat within Schecter's Diamond Series and was constructed using a set-neck joint, an arched maple top, and a maple body, with gold multi-ply binding throughout.
The three-piece maple neck carried an ebony fretboard with 22 medium frets, a 14" (355mm) radius, and a Thin 'C' profile measuring .787" (20mm) at the first fret and .866" (22mm) at the twelfth. The 1.771" (45mm) nut width accommodated the wider string spacing required for twelve-string stringing, with a Graph Tech XL Ivory Tusq nut handling that duty. Scale length ran 24.75" (628mm). Mother of Pearl Mission UK Design inlays marked the fretboard positions, with glow-in-the-dark side dot markers. Hardware was finished in gold throughout, with Grover tuners, a Diamond Adjustable-12 bridge, and Grip Tip Speed Knobs. Both neck and bridge positions carried Schecter Diamond Tubebucker pickups, wired through a 2 Volume / 2 Tone (Push-Pull) / 3-Way Switch control layout. The instrument shipped with Ernie Ball 12 String Electric #2230 (.010–.046) strings and was available in Ivory (IVY).
