Description

Schecter built the Dan Donegan Ultra as a signature instrument for the Disturbed guitarist, positioning it in the upper tier of the company's neck-through electric guitar line. The model carried item number 261 and was finished in Satin Black with satin gold hardware throughout.

Construction is neck-through with Ultra Access, using a three-piece maple neck joined to a mahogany body finished with black multi-ply binding and a flat top with raised center contour. The ebony fretboard runs a 14-inch radius and carries 22 X-Jumbo frets with gold dot inlays. The Thin 'C' neck profile measures .787 inches at the first fret and .866 inches at the twelfth. A Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut sits at 1.653 inches wide, and a two-way adjustable truss rod is accessible via a 5/32-inch Allen key. Schecter locking tuners hold the strings at the headstock. Both pickup positions are loaded with Schecter USA Brimstone-Six™ humbuckers, controlled by a volume knob, a push-pull tone knob, and a three-way switch, all fitted with Grip Tip Speed Knobs. The bridge is a TonePros T3BT tune-o-matic paired with a T1Z tailpiece. The instrument shipped strung with Ernie Ball Regular Slinky .010–.046 strings. The SGR 11-UM Ultra case was sold separately.

Owners sourcing replacement parts — including Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nuts, TonePros T3BT bridge saddles, or Schecter locking tuner buttons — should consult a qualified luthier or guitar technician familiar with neck-through instruments to confirm it fits before installation.

The owner archive

From the people who own them

Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.

Put yours on the record.

The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.

What do you know about this one?

Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
