Schecter built the Hellraiser Hybrid C-8 LH as an eight-string, left-handed entry in its Hellraiser Hybrid series, positioned as an extended-range instrument with an active pickup configuration and a baritone-scale neck. Construction is set-neck with Ultra Access, joining a mahogany body to a three-piece maple neck reinforced with carbon fiber rods, topped with a quilted maple arched top finished in Trans Black Burst. Carbon fiber multi-ply binding runs the perimeter.
The 28-inch scale neck carries an ebony fretboard with 24 X-Jumbo frets, a 20-inch radius, and a Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut at 2.125 inches wide — proportioned for the eight-string string spread. The Ultra Thin 'C' profile measures .748 inches at the first fret and .787 inches at the twelfth. Mother of Pearl offset/reverse dot inlays mark the positions, with a Gothic Cross at the twelfth fret and glow-in-the-dark side dots. Schecter locking tuners and a Hipshot Hardtail bridge with string-through-body stringing handle tuning stability and anchor, all finished in black chrome hardware. Electronics are an EMG 57-8H at the bridge and an EMG 66-8H at the neck, both in brushed black chrome covers, wired to a volume/volume/tone/3-way switch layout and powered by a 9-volt clip-in battery compartment. Factory strings are Ernie Ball 8-String Skinny Top Heavy Bottom #2624.
Owners sourcing replacement parts — including the Hipshot bridge saddles, EMG 8-string pickup hardware, or Graph Tech XL Tusq nut blanks — should consult a qualified guitar technician familiar with extended-range instruments to ensure correct fit and setup for the 28-inch scale.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
