Schecter positioned the C-7 Multiscale SLS Elite at the upper tier of its seven-string electric guitar range, built around a neck-through construction with Ultra Access and a fanned-fret multiscale design spanning 25.5" at the neck to 27" at the bridge. The Gloss Natural finish displayed the flamed maple top over a swamp ash body, bounded by black 1-ply binding. The multi-ply maple, walnut, and padauk neck incorporated carbon fiber reinforcement rods for added rigidity, terminating at a graphite nut 1.889" wide.
Fishman Fluence Modern humbuckers — ceramic magnet at the bridge, alnico magnet at the neck — powered the pickup system, with each controlled through push-pull volume and tone pots and a 3-way switch; the active electronics draw from a 9-volt clip-in battery compartment. The Hipshot hardtail bridge with string-through-body anchoring sat on a flat plane across 24 X-jumbo stainless steel frets on a 20" radius ebony fretboard, with abalone offset/reverse dot inlays and matching abalone side dots. Hardware throughout was finished in black, including the metal knurled knobs and Schecter locking tuners. The instrument shipped strung with Ernie Ball 7-string gauges (.009–.062).
