Description

Dunlop produced the SW95-U as a signature Cry Baby Wah pedal developed around Slash's lead tone. It occupied the artist signature tier of the Cry Baby line, combining a high-gain distortion circuit with what Dunlop described as the Classic wah circuit. LED indicators were fitted to show effect status at a glance.

The SW95-U operated on an 18-volt DC power supply, drawing 18 mA. Its true hardwire bypass kept the signal path clean when the effect was disengaged. Input impedance was rated at 1 MΩ with an output impedance of 4.7 kΩ. The sweep ran from a heel-down centre frequency of 270 Hz–370 Hz up to a toe-down centre frequency of 1.5 kHz–1.9 kHz, with a maximum gain of 20 dB at the centre frequency. Nominal input was rated at -8 dBV, maximum output at +7 dBV, and the noise floor sat below -94 dBV.

Owners seeking replacement footswitch components, potentiometers, or power supply guidance should consult a qualified guitar technician familiar with Dunlop Cry Baby platform hardware.

From the people who own them

Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.

Put yours on the record.

The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.

What do you know about this one?

Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
