Description
Dunlop positioned the MXR Sugar Drive (M294) within the MXR effects line as an overdrive pedal based on a rare circuit, covering a range from clean boosting to heavier distortion tones. It carried true bypass switching, with a buffer available as an alternative bypass mode.
The pedal operated on 9 VDC power, drawing 18.5 mA, and was specified for use with the ECB003 AC adapter. Its input impedance was rated at 600 kΩ and output impedance at 3 kΩ, with a nominal input level of +6 dBV, a maximum output level of +26 dBV, and throughput gain of up to +50 dB at 1 kHz. A tone control provided up to −20 dB of cut at 3 kHz when turned fully counter-clockwise.
Owners sourcing a replacement AC adapter should confirm compatibility with the 9 VDC, center-negative standard common to MXR pedals; a qualified guitar technician or electronics technician can assist with any internal servicing or bypass-mode configuration.
