Cort built the LCJ-BW-OPLB as part of the Little CJ series, positioning it as a 3/4-scale jumbo acoustic intended for players who needed a compact, fully functional instrument. It differed from the standard Little CJ OP variant in its choice of tonewoods, substituting a solid Blackwood top and Blackwood back and sides in place of that model's materials. The Open Pore Light Burst finish is reflected in the SKU designation.
The body uses an arched back construction and joins to a Mahogany (Palaquium) neck via a dovetail neck joint. The neck carries a V-shape profile and meets an Ovangkol fretboard across a 597mm (23.5") scale with 20 frets and a 43mm nut. Bracing follows an Advanced X pattern. Hardware includes Vintage Open Gear tuners, an Ovangkol bridge, a multiple-ring rosette, and black binding with white purfling. Electronics are handled by a Fishman® Presys II system, and the guitar ships strung with D'Addario® EXP16 strings. A gig bag was included at the time of original sale.
Owners requiring setup work, fret maintenance, or sourcing of compatible parts — including Ovangkol bridge saddles, 43mm nut blanks, or Fishman Presys II replacement components — should consult a qualified guitar technician or luthier familiar with small-body acoustic instruments.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
