Cort built the A5 Plus FMMH-OPN as a neck-through five-string electric bass positioned toward the working professional within the Artisan Series line. The design centred on consistent, gig-ready performance, combining premium tonewoods with dedicated Bartolini electronics throughout.
The body pairs a figured maple top with a mahogany (Palaquium) back, and the neck-through construction uses a five-piece maple and panga panga neck extending the full length of the instrument. The panga panga fretboard carries 24 frets with abalone inlay over a 864 mm (34") scale. Hardware is finished in platinum and includes Hipshot Ultralite machine heads and a Hipshot Trans Tone bridge. Pickups are Bartolini MK-1 units paired with a Bartolini MK-1 EQ preamp. The instrument supports both string-through and top-load stringing configurations.
Owners sourcing replacement hardware should note that Hipshot components are a current product line with published specifications; a qualified guitar technician or luthier can confirm fit for the bridge saddles, tuner bushings, or string retainers before ordering.

What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
