Ibanez built the S670QMSPB as part of the S Series line, a range long associated with lightweight, slim-waisted bodies and fast, thin neck profiles. The model sat in the mid-tier of the S Series, distinguished by its quilted maple top over a meranti body and its Cosmo black hardware finish.
The Wizard III maple neck carries a bound jatoba fretboard with 24 jumbo frets, off-set white dot inlays, and a 400mm radius. Nut width measures 43mm, widening to 58mm at the 24th fret; thickness runs 19mm at the first fret and 21mm at the 12th. The 648mm (25.5") scale feeds through an Edge-Zero II tremolo bridge with 10.8mm string spacing and is anchored at the headstock by a locking nut. The three-pickup configuration pairs two Quantum humbucker pickups — passive, ceramic-loaded — at the neck and bridge positions with a passive, alnico-loaded Quantum single-coil in the middle. All hardware is finished in Cosmo black. The guitar left the factory strung with D'Addario EXL120s (.009–.042) in standard E tuning.
