Ibanez produced the TMB100WNF as part of the Talman Bass series, positioning it as an entry-level four-string electric bass built around a traditional split/single pickup configuration. The model carried the Walnut Flat finish designation within the TMB100 line.
The bass was constructed with a poplar body and a TMB4 maple neck topped with a jatoba fretboard bearing white dot inlays. The fretboard radius measured 240mm across 20 medium frets, with a nut width of 41mm and a string spacing of 19mm at the B10 bridge. Scale length was 864mm (34 inches). Pickups consisted of a passive Dynamix P at the neck position and a passive Dynamix J at the bridge, feeding into an Ibanez Custom Electronics 2-band EQ. Hardware was finished in chrome. The instrument left the factory strung with .045/.065/.085/.105 gauges in standard E–A–D–G tuning.
