Ibanez built the SR306EBWK as a six-string entry in the SR (Soundgear) Series, positioning it as a multi-string bass within a line long associated with slim, fast-playing necks and active electronics oriented toward players stepping beyond the standard four- or five-string format.
The body is Nyatoh, paired with a five-piece Maple/Walnut neck — a laminated construction Ibanez used across the SR range to add rigidity and resist seasonal movement. The Jatoba fretboard carries white dot inlays and medium frets, with a 400mm radius and a 34-inch (864mm) scale. Nut width is 54mm, widening to 83mm at the 24th fret; neck thickness runs 19.5mm at the first fret and 21.5mm at the 12th. String spacing at the bridge is 16.5mm. The Accu-cast B126 bridge and all hardware are finished in black. Each PowerSpan Dual Coil pickup operates passively, feeding the Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-band EQ, which includes a 3-way Power Tap switch that alters the pickup voicing. The Weathered Black finish is specific to this SKU.
Owners sourcing replacement parts — including the Accu-cast B126 bridge, PowerSpan pickups, or Jatoba fretboard components — or requiring neck relief, intonation, or nut work should consult a qualified guitar technician familiar with multi-string bass instruments.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
