- D'Addario EJ46 Pro Arte Hard Tension
Washburn built the C5CE as part of its Classical Series, positioning it as an electro-acoustic nylon-string instrument with a traditional classical format. The model carried a spruce top over catalpa back and sides, with quarter-sawn scalloped Sitka spruce bracing and a mosaic rosette.
The mahogany neck carries a rosewood fretboard with 19 frets, and the nut is a GraphTech Nubone unit cut to a 52mm width — the wider classical dimension suited to fingerstyle technique without a position marker inlay scheme. Scale length is 25.5 inches. The rosewood bridge anchors D'Addario EJ46 Pro Arte Hard Tension strings. An EVT preamp system provides the onboard electronics. Tuning machines are classical-style chrome units with pearloid buttons.
Owners sourcing replacement parts — particularly a compatible Nubone nut blank, EVT preamp components, or matching classical tuning machines — should consult a qualified guitar technician or luthier who can verify fit against the instrument's exact dimensions before ordering.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
