Ibanez built the GA6CE as part of its Classical Series, positioning it as an electro-acoustic classical guitar with a cutaway body. The cutaway configuration gave players access to the upper register while retaining the fan-braced spruce top characteristic of the classical tradition. The Amber High Gloss finish was applied across the body, with a full gloss treatment on the top, back, sides, and neck.
The body pairs a spruce top with sapele back and sides, braced with classical fan bracing. The okoume neck carries a purpleheart fretboard and matching purpleheart bridge, with a flat radius and 52mm nut width. The neck profile measures 22mm at the first fret and 24mm at the seventh. Gold classical tuners handle tuning, and coated nylon strings are strung at an 11.6mm string spacing across the 19-fret neck at a 650mm scale. On the electronics side, Ibanez fitted an undersaddle pickup feeding an AEQ-2T preamp with onboard tuner, outputting through a standard 1/4" jack on a 9V battery. The soundhole carries a classical mosaic design rosette, and the body is bound in black.
