Ibanez built the GA2 as part of its Classical Series, positioning it as a 3/4-scale classical acoustic guitar. The reduced body size placed it within the line as an accessible entry point for students or players requiring a more compact instrument than a full-size classical.
The GA2 features a spruce top over meranti back and sides, with a maple bridge and nandu wood fretboard on a nyatoh neck. The nut and saddle are plastic, and the headstock carries chrome classical tuners. The fretboard radius is flat, as is standard for the classical format, and the instrument ships with a factory tuning of 1E–2B–3G–4D–5A–6E across 18 frets. The 580mm scale length, 44.5mm nut width, and 11.6mm string spacing define the playing geometry for this body class. The soundhole is dressed with a classical water-decal rosette, and the finish is amber high gloss.
Owners sourcing replacement parts — bridge saddles, nut blanks, or classical tuning machines — should verify fit against the stated dimensions before installation. A qualified luthier or guitar technician can assist with setup work, nut and saddle replacement, or any structural assessment.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
