A replacement recoil spring for the Ibanez Edge-family tremolo, supplied as a set of three. The spring sits in the rear cavity, anchored between the claw and the tremolo block, and it is what pulls the bridge back to neutral after a dive or pull-up. When springs rust, stretch unevenly, or lose tension, the bridge stops returning to the same position. These carry a Teflon coating on the surface to resist moisture and corrosion — the failure mode the coating is fighting is exactly that: rust breaking down the spring's recoil consistency and killing return-to-pitch stability.
Fit is not as simple as "fits Edge." The Edge family covers the Edge, Lo-Pro Edge, Edge Pro, Edge Zero and a number of licensed variants, and these systems differ in stud spacing, block geometry and cavity dimensions. A spring set correct for one will not necessarily work in another. More important than the guitar's model name is the actual tremolo unit installed — and on Ibanez guitars, the tremolo fitted changed between production years, sometimes on the same model designation. Open the back cover, read the tremolo itself, and confirm which system you have before ordering.
The ESPR2003 is the regular-tension version of this spring. Ibanez also lists the ESPR1003 for applications where a different tension characteristic is needed. If you are chasing tuning instability and have already ruled out the nut, saddles and string lock, worn or corroded springs are the next logical place to look.
If you are not certain which Edge variant is in your guitar, send us the make, model and year and we will confirm before you order.
