Washburn built the PXS10FRDLXWB as part of the Parallaxe Series, a line the company positioned as its most advanced rock and metal offering, designed specifically for high-speed, technically demanding playing styles. The double-cut solid body configuration was chosen to provide comfortable access to the upper register of the 24-fret neck.
The guitar was constructed with a mahogany body and a maple neck fitted with an ebony fretboard. Fret position is marked with small dots and a Parallaxe-specific inlay at the 12th fret. A locking nut at 43 mm width pairs with the Floyd Rose bridge — fitted with a nickel-plated brass 34 mm block — to anchor the string system, while Black Chrome Grover Exclusive tuners with an 18:1 ratio handle the headstock end. The 25-1/2" scale carries Duncan USA SH2/TB6 humbuckers in a neck-and-bridge configuration. The control layout offers one volume and one tone control per pickup, each with a series/parallel push-pull function, selected via a 3-way toggle. Hardware throughout is finished in black chrome. The guitar left the factory strung with D'Addario EXL 120 light-gauge strings and was available in a Flame Wine Burst gloss finish.
Owners seeking setup work, Floyd Rose maintenance, or compatible replacement parts — including the 34 mm brass sustain block, locking nut, or Grover tuner bushings — should consult a qualified guitar technician familiar with double-locking tremolo systems.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
