Washburn built the PXM10FRQTBLM-D-U as part of the Parallaxe XM Series, a line the company positioned specifically for high-output rock and metal players demanding a purpose-built shred instrument. It sat at the upper end of the Parallaxe range, distinguished by a quilted maple top in a Trans Blue Burst finish over a double-cut solid mahogany body.
The guitar was constructed with a maple neck and an ebony fretboard carrying 24 frets, small dot inlays, and a Parallaxe inlay at the 12th fret. The 25-1/2" scale runs to a 43 mm locking nut. Hardware throughout is black chrome, including Grover Exclusive 18:1 tuners. The bridge is a Floyd Rose unit fitted with a nickel-plated brass 34 mm block. Pickups are a Duncan USA SH2 in the neck and TB6 in the bridge, wired in an H/H configuration through a 3-way toggle selector; each pickup has its own volume and tone control, both equipped with a series/parallel push-pull function. Strings were factory-fitted with D'Addario EXL 120 light gauge.
Owners sourcing replacement parts should note that the Floyd Rose bridge accepts standard Floyd Rose-spec components, and the locking nut width of 43 mm should be matched precisely when sourcing a replacement.
