Washburn built the EA20SNB-O-U as part of its Festival Series, developed in collaboration with Nuno Bettencourt as a stage- and studio-oriented acoustic-electric. The model sits in the Festival Series line as a signature instrument, carrying Bettencourt's mourning widow motif throughout its appointments. Its thin-line Auditorium body with a Florentine cutaway was designed to reduce feedback in amplified contexts while preserving upper-fret access.
The top is a book-matched solid Sitka spruce, braced with quarter-sawn scalloped Sitka spruce bracing. Back and sides are book-matched Pau Ferro, matched by an Ovangkol fretboard and Ovangkol bridge. The satin mahogany neck carries a two-way truss rod and is topped with a Graphtech Nubone nut at 1-11/16" width across a 25-1/2" scale, with 21 frets. The mourning widow inlay appears at the 12th fret and is echoed in the custom rosette. A Graphtech Nubone saddle partners the nut for tone transfer. Chrome die-cast tuners handle tuning stability, and the factory string set is D'Addario EXP-16 light phosphor bronze. Amplified tone is managed by a Fishman Presys II 301T preamp, which provides volume, bass, treble, phase control, and a built-in tuner. The overall hardware is finished in chrome against a gloss Natural finish on the body.
Owners seeking setup adjustments, nut or saddle replacement, or Fishman Presys II servicing should consult a qualified guitar technician familiar with acoustic-electric instruments.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
