Washburn produced the EA15ITB-U as part of its Festival Series, a line of acoustic-electric guitars designed around stage and performance use. The model occupied an accessible position within the Festival range, combining an onboard electronics system with a cutaway body style suited to players who needed upper-fret access.
The guitar was built with a flame maple top and catalpa back and sides. The mini jumbo cutaway body housed the EQ4-T preamp and tuner system, providing onboard tone shaping and chromatic reference without an external unit. The Ice Tea Burst finish was applied over the flame maple top, allowing the wood's figuring to remain visible through the coloured gradient.
