Schecter produced the 1704 Pro Guitar Bag as a protective carrying case positioned within their Pro Gig Bag collection. It was designed to bridge the gap between the rigidity of a hard-shell case and the portability of a conventional gig bag, intended to accommodate guitars and basses across a range of body sizes and scale lengths.

The bag's structure relied on ultra-thick padded sidewalls to add rigidity and resist impact. The interior was lined with microfleece to protect against scratches, and included strategically placed padding, a repositionable neck-support block, and a removable body block to stabilise and fit the instrument securely. The exterior was constructed from heavy-duty nylon with a stated resistance to puncture and wear. A rain cover was stored in a dedicated pocket. The front storage pocket organised into multiple compartments: a sheet music section, a padded tablet sleeve, two Velcro flap-closure pockets, three additional pockets of varying sizes, and an integrated cable management system. Carrying options included side and front handles and cushioned backpack straps, all finished with reinforced stitching and riveted construction. Non-slip rubber feet were fitted to the bottom edge. The bag was offered in black.
