Description

Randall produced the KH120RHS-U as a Kirk Hammett signature half-stack package, comprising the KH120RH head and the KH412 cabinet. The unit sat in Randall's artist signature line, developed in collaboration with Hammett to meet his specific tonal requirements.

The head ran at 120 watts and offered two channels: a clean channel with a boost option, and an overdrive channel with dual gain stages, a voicing switch, and a contour control. A spring reverb operated across both channels. The included two-button footswitch handled Clean/OD channel switching and Gain 1/2 selection. The KH412 cabinet housed four Celestion Rocket 50 speakers and was rated at 200 watts. The head accepted a minimum impedance of 4 ohms via two speaker jacks, and connectivity extended to an FX loop (send and return), a headphone jack, a standard guitar input, an auxiliary input for tape or CD sources, and two footswitch jacks. Casters were included with the cabinet. Combined head and cabinet weight was 106.92 lbs; the head measured 24.57 x 9.49 x 11.10 inches and the cabinet 29.50 x 14.00 x 30.10 inches.

Owners sourcing replacement Celestion Rocket 50 drivers, footswitch cables, or reverb tank components should consult a qualified amplifier technician to confirm compatibility and ensure safe installation.

From the people who own them

Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.

Put yours on the record.

The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.

What do you know about this one?

Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
