Description

The MXR Slash Octave Fuzz was a signature effects pedal produced by Dunlop, positioned as a high-gain fuzz unit with multi-register frequency shaping. It combined a primary fuzz circuit with a sub-octave generator and an upper-octave layer, giving the owner simultaneous access to three tonal registers within a single pedal.

The unit offered a fuzz gain range of 40 dB and an octave-up gain range of 20 dB, with the sub-octave corner frequency set at 149 Hz. Dry signal headroom reached a maximum of +1.6 dB. Signal-to-noise ratio exceeded 85 dB. Input impedance was 47 kΩ and output impedance 100 Ω. The pedal operated on 9 volts DC with a current draw of 17 mA and used true hardwire bypass, leaving the signal path unaltered when the effect was disengaged.
