Dunlop positioned the M68-U MXR Uni-Vibe Chorus/Vibrato as a compact effects pedal offering chorus and vibrato modes in the MXR line. It was designed around a three-knob interface and a smaller physical footprint than earlier Uni-Vibe-style units.
The M68-U operated on a 9-volt DC supply drawing 5 mA and offered true hardwire bypass switching. Input impedance was rated at 1 MΩ with an output impedance of 5 kΩ. Maximum input level was 0 dBV, maximum output 8 dBV, and the noise floor sat at −94 dBV. The onboard speed control swept from 0.5 Hz to 10.5 Hz, covering slow, deep modulation through faster rotary-style rates.
Owners requiring replacement footswitches, knobs, or compatible 9-volt DC power supplies should consult a qualified guitar technician or effects repair specialist for parts identification and service guidance.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
