Dunlop positioned the MXR Micro Chorus (M148-U) as a compact, single-control chorus pedal in the MXR effects line. It was built around a bucket-brigade delay circuit intended to reproduce the modulated chorus textures associated with that technology.
The unit offered a single Rate control spanning 0.25 Hz to 7.5 Hz, governing the speed of the modulation. Delay time ranged between 4.2 ms and 6.8 ms. The frequency response of the delayed signal ran from 20 Hz to 4.5 kHz, while the dry signal passed the full 20 Hz to 20 kHz range. Input impedance was rated at 1 MΩ and output impedance at 1 kΩ at 1 kHz. Maximum input level was −5 dBV at 500 Hz, maximum output level +8 dBV, and the noise floor measured −89 dBV. The bypass implementation was true hardwire. The pedal drew 5 mA from a 9-volt DC power supply.
