Description

Dunlop produced the JD4S-U Rotovibe as a chorus and vibrato effects pedal, positioned around the concept of recreating rotating speaker effects in a floor-mounted unit. It offered two distinct modes — Vibrato and Chorus — and used a rocker-style control to govern effect speed, with LED indicators providing visual feedback of the rate.

The unit operated on a 9-volt DC power supply, drawing 11 mA. Input impedance measured 470 kΩ and output impedance 6 kΩ. The effect speed spanned a range of 0.55 Hz to 9.5 Hz via the rocker control. Noise floor measured -98 dBV in Vibrato mode and -99 dBV in Chorus mode. The bypass implementation is buffered rather than true bypass, a consideration relevant to signal chain planning. The unit's rate was also indicated in real time by the onboard LED speed indicators.
