DigiTech released the DOD Looking Glass as a Class-A FET overdrive pedal, developed in collaboration with boutique effects builder SHOE Pedals — specifically Christopher Venter, whose background centred on unique circuits and a minimalist design approach. The pedal sat in the DOD line as a versatile overdrive capable of ranging from clean tone shaping and light boost through to heavy, saturated drive.
The Looking Glass employed an asymmetrical clipping circuit built around a hybrid Class-A discrete FET topology, which the design team noted was responsive to pick attack as well as to the gain control. A DIP switch governs an Input Filter function that adjusts input impedance — 260 kΩ with DIP 1 on, 235 kΩ with DIP 1 off — intended to interact with a guitar's pickups and manage high-frequency content before the drive stage. A pre-drive Bass Cut control and a post-drive Treble control provide tonal shaping on either side of the clipping circuit. The pedal runs true bypass, draws 4 mA, and accepts either a 9VDC alkaline battery or a HARMAN PS0913DC power adapter. The enclosure measures 4.68" (L) × 2.63" (W) × 2.25" (H) and weighs 1 lb.
